This page is for those who want the instructions to make a New Origami Crane.

This origami crane is different from the traditional origami crane. It is based on calyx base instead of bird base. It is a bit skinnier than the traditional one.

Before working on this model, you need to know what valley-fold and mountain-fold are. If you know these two folding techniques, then you will have no problem in making origami dragon.

If you are ready, then let's get started.

If you find any bugs on this instruction, please send an email to HyoAhn's email.

You may use any kind of paper to fold the origami dragon. It is a little easier if the front and the back side of the paper are slightly different whether it be in texture or color.

Make sure the paper that you use is a square (all sides are equal and all the angles equal 90 degrees). The paper I am using here is 20cm x 20cm square one. It is a good size for those who are not experienced in paper folding. If you are become familiar with this model. Then you can try smaller size paper.

Farewell Paper Crane

Straying in to stormy weather
Our love was a weather balloon
And when the going got tough
You let go too soon
But I clung on, and sailed into the rain
I made out the other side
Without my paper crane

Farewell my origami sweetheart
It's time for something new
Someone I barely recognise
Something I never saw in you

We'll learn to be in love again from scratch
In my paper heart
I fold the perfect lines
For our not-so-perfect match
